Glycolic acid is a natural acid, thought for cosmetic use, from sugar cane, but also extracted from beets, grapes or other fruits where it is naturally present. It is part of the so-called alpha-hydroxy acids (AHA), being the most used in cosmetics due to its low molecular weight compared to others such as lactic acid.
